Does an Audi battery really need special coding or can any garage just swap it out?

I have a 2019 Audi Q7 that I use for pretty much everything, dropping kids to school, going to work, weekend trips, you name it. A couple of days ago I got a warning on my dashboard saying something about the battery being weak and that I should start the engine to charge it. I've never seen that message before and it made me worried. I called my local garage where I usually take my car for oil changes and routine maintenance and they quoted me a very reasonable price for a new battery. But when I asked if they would code or register the new battery to the car's computer the guy on the phone said that's not necessary and that he just swaps batteries on Audis all the time with no issues. Then I called the Audi dealership to ask for their price and it was nearly triple what the independent garage quoted. The service advisor told me that modern Audis have a battery management system that needs to know when a new battery is installed. He said if you just swap the battery without coding it, the car will still think the old weak battery is there and will overcharge the new one trying to bring it back to life which will ruin it within months. He also said that some features like the start stop system and the power tailgate might not work properly if you skip the coding. Now I don't know who to believe. The independent garage has good reviews online and I've been happy with their work on simple things like brakes and oil changes. But they don't specialize in Audis specifically. I started looking online for companies that focus on German cars and I found one that offers Audi car battery replacement service Dubai. Their website explains the coding process in detail and they seem to know what they're talking about. Their price is higher than my local garage but still much lower than the dealership. I'm leaning towards going with them because the coding thing seems important based on what I've read in owner forums. But I wanted to ask here first, has anyone actually experienced problems from not coding a new battery in their Audi? Or is the dealership just making this up to scare people into paying their high prices? I really don't want to waste money on something unnecessary but I also don't want to damage my car. Would love to hear from anyone who has actually been through this. Thanks so much.
